Who I am and What I Provide

Presencia de America - Camarena

Because I specialize in helping people take charge of their life by removing dysfunctional or outdated patterns of thinking and behavior and restoring harmony to your life, I use an eclectic, humanistic approach to promote life-transforming changes in their life. I am drawn to Eastern and traditional cultures and their philosophy of healing.

Therapeutic Philosophy

I use talk therapy, guided imagery, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization  Reprogramming) music, art and psycho-dynamic techniques to arrive at a place that will trigger a  change response in the individual. Therapy can be done in English or Spanish and may work with other therapists to enhance the healing journey.

I am of Italian-German ancestry born in Chile but raised and educated in the United States since I was 12 years old.

I have a doctorate in Humanistic Psychology from Saybrook University, a masters in Botanical Medicine and a bachelors in Public Administration and International Development. I am certified in the State of Washington, and I am a member of the Washington Professional Counselors  Association as well as other professional organizations.  I am a university psychology professor, writer and researcher.

Due to my background, I am fascinated by all psychology schools and use a therapeutic modality rooted in a holistic, culturally- sensitive and spiritually balanced approach. I have used psychology, philosophy and mythology in my own quest for better understanding of myself and the world around me.

As a humanistic psychologist I believe we are the creator of our own myth and therefore we are able to rewrite our own life chapters so that the myth functions for us and helps us regain control of our life. To that end I will help you discover aspects of yourself that were uncovered, repressed or unrefined so you can embark in your healing journey, empowered and supported.

Fluent in Spanish,Italian and Portuguese
